Skywatchers of Ancient Mexico
A detailed study of the ancient astronomers of Central America-the Olmecs, the Maya, the Aztecs, and others. The show will explore how for 3,000 years, stretching from 1500 B.C. to 1521 A.D., the people of Mexico and Central America built cities, developed hieroglyphic writing, performed sophisticated mathematics using the concept of zero, and made astronomical observations. Also investigates the
affects of the arrival of Europeans.
